Formerly Marino & Associates, SJI’s literary agency and editorial services practice provides author representation and manuscript preparation for business professionals and subject matter experts who wish to develop a book concept or take an existing book manuscript to market. For those projects with clear commercial viability, we identify target publishers and negotiate top dollar for the authors we represent; for those authors whose work is more narrowly focused, but may have a strong impact in their professional pursuits or drive awareness of their business, we help them sort through the publishing alternatives, including targeting small publishers, collaborative publishing or self-publishing. Our passion for publishing is augmented by an aspiration that serves as a measuring stick for all the work we represent. We have a simple vision – to work with authors who inform, uplift and inspire the reading public with quality content that creates a more enlightened world.

Founded in 1987 to provide editorial services for businesses and publishing companies, this business unit has now evolved into a full-service literary agency and was rolled into StarJunction International™ (SJI) in 1998. The firm’s founder, William P. Marino, a former editor for the publishing giant Harcourt Brace, managing editor for Colorado Springs Style, and editor-in-chief of NewTech Publications, has been involved in the publishing process for more than 20 years. At Harcourt, Marino was involved with the acquisition and preparation of such award-winning works as Sarah Plain and Tall, by Patricia MacLachlan, and My Antonia, by Willa Cather, for the company’s Laureate Edition Reading Series. At NewTech, he brought the acclaimed book, Tropical Son, by Jonathan Harrington, to market. In all, Marino has served as editor on 17 books, including Harcourt’s instructional series, entitled Harcourt Language, which pioneered the pedagogy of the writing process. Marino, an accomplished writer in his own right, has over 200 articles published in the United States and Europe.
